Legal Wedding for following information will be required in order to process your marriage certificates in Bali.
Foreigner (not Indonesian citizen)
- Copy of passport
- Copy of birth certificate (must be translated into Bahasa Indonesia by sworn translator)
- Details of religious faith (i.e. baptism certificates)
- Written parental consent for any person under the age of 21
- Copy death certificate of former spouse (when relevant, must be translated into Bahasa Indonesia by sworn translator)
- Letter of No Impediment to marriage from your consulate/embassy in Indonesia
- Eight (8) photographs (4 x 6 cm) of the couple in same photo. Photo must be of the head and shoulders only, side by side, looking straight ahead and red background. Groom must be on the right side of bride. Be advised that these photos will be attached to your wedding certificate!
- Copy passport of two witnesses
Indonesian (KTP Holder)
- Copy of KTP (Kartu Tanda Penduduk)
- Copy of birth certificate
- Details of religious faith (i.e. baptism certificates)
- Written parental consent for any person under the age of 21
- Copy death certificate of former spouse (when relevant)
- Copy decree absolute divorce certificate (when relevant)
- Surat Keterangan Belum Kawin issued by your own Civil Registrar which must mentioned that you are free to get married at Badung Regency, Bali, Indonesia (to get this letter, you must process N1-N4 letter from your Kelurahan)
- Eight (8) photographs (4 x 6 cm) of the couple in same photo. Photo must be of the head and shoulders only, side by side, looking straight ahead and red background. Groom must be on the right side of bride. Be advised that these photos will be attached to your wedding certificate!
- Copy KTP of two witnesses
Catholic Couples must also present
- Baptism Certificates – Mandatory, re-issued not more than 6 months (and preferably not more than 3 months) prior to your wedding date
- “Letter of Freedom” issued by your Parish Priest or other Church Official, declaring you have never been married and are therefore free to marry
- “Letter of Delegation” issued by your Parish Priest or other Church Official, declaring that they have no objection to your marriage ceremony being performed by a Priest from the Catholic Church in Bali
- Pre- marriage course certificate from Priest in your country
- Canon investigation from Priest in your country
- Dispensation letter from Priest in your country to our priest in Bali as permission for different religion wedding
Important note about witnesses
At least one Witness to a Catholic Wedding Ceremony must be Catholic and, blood-relatives such as parents, brothers or sisters may not act as witnesses. If you have no suitable person traveling with you we will happily arrange witnesses on your behalf.
Please note that divorced people cannot re- marry in the Catholic Church, no matter if the previous marriage took place in a church or civil office.
